WasteWizer Technologies
IoT smart scale system for remotely monitoring fill levels of large waste containers. Co-founded the startup in 2019.
An IoT scale to remotely weigh and monitor large waste containers (e.g., dumpsters and compactors). I co-founded this startup in 2019, and, while I’ve since stepped away and am no longer involved with the project, the other founders are continuing to find success with the business.
The system attaches to existing dumpsters and continuously monitors weight via load cells, transmitting fill-level data to a cloud dashboard over the Particle Device Cloud API. Haulers can see fill levels across their entire fleet on a map in real time, allowing them to optimize pickup routes and avoid unnecessary trips to containers that aren’t ready.
I was responsible for the full hardware stack — sensor selection and integration, signal processing for noise rejection on proprietary polymerized load cells attached to dumpsters in harsh outdoor environments, power management, and firmware. I also built the first customer-facing prototype deployments.
